About the position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the New Shepard program, which is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line - the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space. As part of a hardworking team of passionate, diverse, and accomplished experts, you will be the technical and programmatic bridge between the New Shepard and BE-3PM business units, ensuring technical requirements and programmatic strategy result in the delivery and availability of BE-3PM engines that meet the New Shepard Flight Manifest requirements. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to map technical risk to program needs. You must be apt at leading through influence, guiding the technical and program teams of another business unit through the development of a new engine design. You will identify and implement design changes to improve system reliability, reduce operational cost, lead verification audits of existing components and subsystems, and execute component and subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis. Bottom line, managing the technical and programmatic risk profile to develop, manufacture, test, and integrate BE-3PM engines to the New Shepard business unit will be your hallmark of success. We are looking for an experienced technical leader with a demonstrated track record of performant, reliable systems to positively impact safe human spaceflight! Passion for our mission and vision is required!
