As a Principal Sustaining Engineer at Philips, you will play a crucial role in supporting product development programs focused on treating vascular diseases with commercially launched devices. Your primary responsibility will be to execute research and development activities from the initial concept stage of product development through to commercialization. This includes not only project-related activities but also assisting in the development of the Philips IGTD Quality Management System (QMS) design controls process. In this position, you will support the detailed design and testing of commercialized products, ensuring that product designs meet specifications. You will be tasked with identifying and recommending solutions for complex technical issues that may arise during the development process. Additionally, you will conduct product idea development, prototyping, product specification development, and test method development, along with writing test protocols and reports. The role requires a strong background in Sustaining Engineering and/or R&D Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of experience. You will need to demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with design control, statistical analysis, and technical writing skills. Experience with single-use devices that integrate into electrical medical equipment is essential. A bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required, with a master's degree being a plus. Excellent communication skills, strong documentation abilities, proven leadership experience, and a coaching/mentorship mindset are also critical for success in this role.
