About the position

The Principal Radiologic Technologist at UC Davis Health System is responsible for performing high-quality radiologic exams and providing compassionate care to patients of all ages. This role involves expert technical support and coordination of radiological services to ensure efficiency and quality in diagnostic imaging. The technologist operates various x-ray and auxiliary equipment, ensuring that the quality of work is reviewed and approved by senior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality radiologic exams for patients of all age groups.
  • Provide compassionate patient care during imaging procedures.
  • Expertly operate various types of x-ray and auxiliary equipment.
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of radiological services for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with department protocols and policies.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
  • Maintain effective communication with radiologists, clinicians, and peers.

Requirements

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification required.
  • CA Fluoroscopic Permit required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis CPR certification required.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Knowledge of imaging equipment operation and quality image production.
  • Ability to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades.
  • Knowledge of techniques for diagnosing and treating human injuries and diseases.
  • Critical thinking skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize workload effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PACS system for archiving and retrieving images.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
