About the position

As a Principal RF Engineer at Sierra Space, you will leverage your technical creativity to design, develop, and test complex products and technologies related to space exploration. This role involves working on a variety of systems, including mission payloads, electronic systems, and integrated aircraft, with a focus on RF front-end design and microwave analysis. You will be part of a team dedicated to transforming humanity through technology and imagination, contributing to the company's mission of enabling human life beyond Earth.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test RF front-end systems and technologies.
• Conduct radio propagation modeling and prediction.
• Perform microwave path analysis and interference analysis.
• Design filters and plan RF frequencies.
• Oversee analog-to-digital conversion and circuit design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in RF Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• Typically 14 or more years of relevant experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices, including RF modeling and analysis techniques.
• Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
• Current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• In-depth understanding of SMC-S-016: Test Requirements for Launch, Upper-Stage and Space Vehicles.
• Experience with automated software testing.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., White/Orange/Green Belt).
• AI&T experience with commercial space vehicles or space systems.
• Familiarity with Product and Quality Assurance principles.
