About the position

The Principal RF Engineer at Sierra Space Corporation is responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex RF products and technologies that support space exploration and satellite operations. This role requires a deep understanding of RF engineering principles and practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams. Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF front-end systems for various space applications.
• Conduct radio propagation modeling and prediction.
• Perform microwave path analysis and interference analysis.
• Design filters and plan RF frequencies for complex systems.
• Engage in analog-to-digital conversion and circuit design.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in RF Engineering or a related discipline.
• Typically 14 or more years of relevant experience in RF engineering.
• Comprehensive knowledge of RF modeling, analysis techniques, and tools.
• Progressive experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• In-depth understanding of SMC-S-016: Test Requirements for Launch, Upper-Stage and Space Vehicles.
• Experience with automated software testing.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., White/Orange/Green Belt).
• AI&T experience with commercial space vehicles or space systems.
• Understanding of Product and Quality Assurance principles.
