About the position

The Principal Robotics/ML Engineer at Analog Devices, Inc. is responsible for leading the development of advanced algorithms in robotics and machine learning. This role involves creating simulations, implementing deployable solutions, and evaluating algorithm performance. The engineer will stay updated on the latest advancements in the field to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of advanced algorithms in robotics using state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Create sandbox simulations, deployable implementations, and evaluation frameworks for algorithm performance and robustness.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in machine learning and robotics from reputable groups.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of full-time industry experience in robotics and/or machine learning.
  • Proven track record of working with robotics and/or machine learning in production settings.
  • Strong background in machine learning and robotics with experience in planning and control algorithms (e.g., A*, MPC).
  • Experience with optimization techniques (e.g., linear/nonlinear optimization).
  • Familiarity with state estimation algorithms (e.g., EKF, Particle Filter).
  • Experience with robotics toolkits (e.g., ROS/ROS2, Gazebo, Isaac).
  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of reinforcement learning and imitation learning.
  • Experience in software development for deployable machine learning systems.
  • Familiarity with mapping techniques using LiDAR/ToF, mono/stereo vision (e.g., 2D/3D occupancy grid mapping, structure from motion).

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with foundation models and large language models.
