About the position

Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADI) is seeking a Principal Robotics System Applications Engineer to join the Smart Machines, Motion and Robotics (SMR) System Applications group. This senior system applications engineering role is pivotal in supporting the growth of the robotics business in the North America region. The successful candidate will work closely with local sales teams and the SMR marketing/business development teams to uncover new opportunities, understand customer technical needs, and drive deeper customer engagement at a system level in the robotics domain. This position is integral to the global SMR robotics team and will involve engaging with the North American robotics ecosystem, including research and start-up support initiatives. The role requires collaboration with various technology groups, including Industrial Vision, Trinamic, magnetics sensing, and isolation, to support system-level design-in activities. The Principal Engineer will also contribute to Go to Market strategies and field training activities for robotics solutions, which includes creating technical articles, training materials, and presentations for trade shows. Additionally, the engineer will help drive the next generation of product roadmaps for relevant products, focusing on connectivity, power, vision, digital, and motor control technologies. Engagement with Analog Garage, ADI's corporate incubator program, and associated Horizon 3 research partnerships will be essential to position ADI's future technology and algorithm development for the robotics market. The role also emphasizes the importance of continuing to grow domain knowledge in humanoid robots, outdoor robotics, including agricultural robotics, and the trends in these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with local sales teams and SMR marketing/business development to uncover new opportunities and understand customer technical needs.
  • Drive deeper customer engagement at a system level in the robotics areas in North America.
  • Engage with and drive ADI involvement with the North America robotics ecosystem, including research and start-up support.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Vision, Trinamic, magnetics sensing, isolation, and other technology groups to support system-level design-in activities.
  • Contribute to Go to Market and field training activities for robotics solutions through technical articles, training materials, and trade show presentations.
  • Help drive next generation product roadmaps for relevant products including connectivity, power, vision, digital, and motor control.
  • Engage with Analog Garage and associated Horizon 3 research partnerships to position ADI's future technology and algorithm development for the robotics market.
  • Continue the growth of SMR domain knowledge in humanoid robots, outdoor robotics, and agricultural robotics.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years' industry experience in a domain linked to industrial robotics.
  • Existing domain knowledge in robotics is required.
  • Strong communication skills to lead technical discussions internally or with customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and articulate system requirements as part of a broader strategy.
  • Confident peer influencer with strong communication skills capable of leading cross-functional technical teams.
