About the position
The Principal Safety Officer for Risk Management at Providence Medical Group is responsible for implementing safety programs to ensure a secure environment for caregivers, patients, and visitors. Responsibilities
- Implement safety programs to ensure a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and visitors.
- Collaborate with leadership and department core leaders to ensure workplace safety compliance.
- Monitor and manage safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance functions.
- Oversee the management of waste streams generated by healthcare facilities.
- Ensure adherence to standards set by The Joint Commission Environment of Care chapter.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education/experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a science discipline with a focus on Environmental Health, Safety, or Health Science.
- 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare safety program administration and management.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) upon hire.
- Experience managing safety standards in a complex healthcare environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Long Term Care, Behavioral Health, and/or Ambulatory Care.
- Additional certifications in safety management or environmental compliance.
