About the position

The Principal Salesforce Developer is a pivotal role within the Center for Internet Security (CIS), responsible for providing innovative solutions to complex technical and business challenges within a Salesforce environment. This position not only requires advanced Salesforce administration support but also involves the development of a highly customized Salesforce environment and integrated applications. As a technical expert, the Principal Salesforce Developer will leverage their extensive knowledge and skills in Salesforce to enhance the organization's capabilities and drive efficiency. In this role, the Principal Salesforce Developer will be tasked with developing, testing, documenting, and deploying high-quality business and technical solutions on Salesforce, utilizing Agile processes and principles. They will oversee the performance standards for Salesforce Administrators, ensuring that objectives are met or exceeded. The position also involves managing support and development tickets, maintaining and enhancing workflows, and providing critical data analytics and visualizations to inform business decisions. The Principal Salesforce Developer will be responsible for building and supporting custom Salesforce solutions and third-party integrations, as well as providing training on best practices to internal teams. Mentorship is a key component of this role, as the developer will set an example for team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Additionally, the developer will own system configuration and user setup, ensuring that the Salesforce environment is optimized for user experience and functionality. Staying current with the latest Salesforce developments and trends is essential to this role, as is serving as the senior technical expert in the Salesforce environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, document, and deploy high quality business and technical solutions on Salesforce using Agile processes, principles, and techniques.
  • Administer stated objectives, goals, and performance standards for Salesforce Administrators in assigned team and assist in ensuring that goals are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee support and development tickets ensuring they are properly documented.
  • Maintain, enhance, and create workflows, process builder flows, visual flows, and other functions and configurations within the Salesforce environment.
  • Provide metrics, data analytics, and data visualizations to inform critical business decisions.
  • Support Salesforce, Kugamon, Qualtrics, and DocuSign applications.
  • Build and support custom Salesforce solutions and 3rd party integrations with Salesforce.
  • Provide training on best practices and the use of applications and integrations to internal teams.
  • Mentor and set the example for team members to foster a mindset of continuous improvement, professional development, and organizational engagement.
  • Create and maintain all aspects of customer relationship management (CRM) reporting and dashboards.
  • Own system configuration and user setup as needed, such as configuring fields, workflows, roles/permissions, page layouts, custom objects, custom record types, reports, saved searches and dashboards.
  • Stay current on latest Salesforce developments and trends, determining improvements to functionality and user experience.
  • Serve as the most senior technical expert on development and configuration in a Salesforce environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years' experience implementing and supporting large scale, complex solutions on Salesforce.
  • 3+ years' experience with implementing and managing DocuSign CLM, Qualtrics, Tableau, CPQ, and Kugamon.
  • 1+ years demonstrated experience collaborating with and successfully training other colleagues.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, collaboration, and analytical skills.
  • Programming background using one or more of the languages such as APEX, Visualforce, Java, or Python.
  • Experience with implementing custom Salesforce Objects.
  • Experience with multiple Integrations, API Connections.
  • Experience in creating and updating system documentation including configuration changes, data mapping requirements, functional designs, test cases and deployment plans as needed for the engagement.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced, team environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a technology company.
  • Expert level proficiency with Salesforce administration, engineering, workflow building and reporting, including Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL), triggers, process builder, validation rules, permissions, and dashboards.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets (ETL) using DataLoader.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
