About the position

The Principal/Senior Consultant - IT Data/Systems Management position at Montrose Environmental Group is a fully remote role focused on providing strategic support for EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and Sustainability information management systems. The consultant will leverage their expertise in emissions inventory management and project delivery to enhance clients' compliance and operational efficiency through effective data management processes and system architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients to evaluate AS-IS processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop TO-BE requirements and document gaps in processes.
  • Think critically about data management processes, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Translate business requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate the gathering of business requirements and translate them into specifications for COTS software setup.
  • Architect and lead systems/reports for emissions calculations, validation, and analysis.
  • Create and review design specifications, test scripts, and training guides.
  • Create project plans and define action items for project execution.
  • Manage various EHS&S information management software applications and associated content.
  • Recognize and escalate conflicts between clients, staff, and software vendors.
  • Streamline technical delivery of routine Management of Change and QA/QC activities.
  • Develop staff's mastery of processes and technical knowledge in EHS applications.
  • Support business development and sales activities.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with emissions inventory management, ideally using commercial off-the-shelf systems.
  • Strong project delivery skills in implementing commercial off-the-shelf systems.
  • Subject matter expertise in EHS & Sustainability, including air emissions and greenhouse gas management.
  • Ability to think critically about data management processes and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate business requirements to various audiences.
