About the position

The Principal/Senior Principal Cyber Systems Cloud Engineer role at Northrop Grumman involves designing, building, and maintaining AWS and hybrid-cloud systems. This position requires a strong background in systems engineering, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity, with a focus on innovative problem-solving and collaboration within a dynamic team. The role is contingent upon program award and requires a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS and hybrid-cloud systems.
• Administer systems based on Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot IP networking systems for AWS and hybrid-cloud systems.
• Automate system deployment, operation, and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tooling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 0 years of experience in relevant technical fields; additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• A current/active DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance.
• Experience with designing, deploying, and administering cloud-based solutions.
• Understanding of the architecture, maintenance, and administration of Linux servers.
• Experience with automating tasks using Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet, or Python.
• Proven experience working within IT Systems Design, Deployment, and Administration.
• Knowledge of cloud database management tools such as MySQL and Hadoop.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity in the context of the cloud.

Nice-to-haves

• Cloud service certification (AWS, Azure, Google, or similar).
• Experience with one or more programming languages.
• Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting IPv4 Networking, including Subnetting, OSPF Routing, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Recent roles in Technical or Team Leadership positions.
