About the position

The Principal/Senior Principal Process Integration Engineer at Northrop Grumman will focus on semiconductor processing, particularly in Back End of Line (BEOL) integration. This role involves working on both production and development programs, troubleshooting, and process improvements within the Advanced Technology Lab. The engineer will collaborate with various teams and contribute to the design, manufacture, and testing of semiconductor products, while also engaging in hands-on laboratory work.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on Superconducting Electronics and connect with multiple advanced technologies.
  • Understand and implement basic semiconductor processing, especially in BEOL process integration.
  • Engage in hands-on laboratory and experimental work.
  • Support program execution for programs within the Micro Systems Technologies portfolio.
  • Interface with multiple foundry groups on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Microelectronics, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or closely related technical major with 5+ years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of basic semiconductor processing, especially in BEOL process integration.
  • Aptitude for hands-on laboratory and experimental work.
  • Ability to work Off-Centered 2nd Shift - Wednesday - Saturday 2:00pm-12:30am.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple shifts in a 24/7 environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret w/SCI clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience in semiconductor processing, analog and microwave electronic circuits
  • FEOL, BEOL, Far-BEOL semiconductor fabrication experience
  • Experience in superconducting electronics
  • DC test analysis, PCM analysis, and production engineering experience
  • Knowledge of yield improvement and defect reduction utilizing automated defect inspection tools and software
  • Experience with DOEs, JMP, and statistical analysis.
