Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. At Oracle Health, our mission is to improve healthcare and quality of life globally through better experience and easier access to health and research data for patients and healthcare providers. This is an SRE role that owns mission-critical database lifecycle management projects including a deep focus on Cloud architecture, OCI Fleet Automation, capacity planning, cloud migrations, major/minor patching, OS upgrades, host migrations, and other projects. An ideal candidate will have a history of automating processes and migrating Oracle Databases to Cloud platforms including Exadata Cloud service and Autonomous Database platforms. This position will identify opportunities in OCI Fleet Level Administration and mentor junior members of the team. An ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects and keeping them on schedule meeting program and customer requirements. As a member of the Database engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You should be able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations). You will need to understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshooting issues when they arise is essential. You will play a role in defining and driving tasks associated with the support and operations of the Exadata in Oracle Cloud. The work is non-routine and can be very complex at times.
