About the position

The Principal Software Architect for Audio at Bose will play a crucial role in shaping the software architecture and platforms for automotive audio solutions. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, customer engagement, and leadership skills to drive innovation and ensure high standards of performance and customer satisfaction. The architect will work closely with OEMs to influence technical decisions and align Bose's offerings with market needs.

Responsibilities

  • Propose, define, design, and implement Bose automotive software architecture and platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with OEMs, showcasing Bose's software platform solutions and influencing their technical decisions.
  • Understand and align Bose's automotive software architecture with OEM's software-defined vehicle roadmap.
  • Act as a technical expert in software and audio signal processing, addressing OEM's development challenges.
  • Lead technical demonstrations of Bose platform offerings to attract customers during the presale process.
  • Represent Bose's technical capabilities to OEM customers across functions.
  • Leverage Bose's software capabilities, including consumer product software and cloud services, to enhance customer value.
  • Stay updated on advancements in automotive audio software technologies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing audio signal processing software at the architect level.
  • Deep knowledge in signal processing software architecture and frameworks for proprietary algorithms.
  • Hands-on knowledge with automotive processor architectures, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC and Analog Devices DSPs.
  • Strong software development skills and knowledge of software engineering best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for understanding customer requirements and producing technical documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on long-term projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to analyze complex technical challenges.

  • Project management skills for planning and executing projects.
  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with Audio and/or Software focus.
