About the position
The Principal Software Design Engineer I at CesiumAstro is responsible for developing both low-level and high-level software for the company's innovative communication systems used in satellites, UAVs, and other airborne platforms. This role involves engaging in all phases of the software development process, from initial concept to production, ensuring that the software meets the needs of space missions and enhances customer integration capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop low-level and high-level software for Cesium's products.
- Engage in all phases of the software development process, including design, coding, analysis, testing, and qualification.
- Create software designs from concept through production, including product roadmaps and block diagrams.
- Work on key projects such as satellite flight software and mission data and operations systems for space missions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software design and development, particularly in aerospace or related fields.
- Strong programming skills in languages relevant to embedded systems and software development.
- Experience with software testing and qualification processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with satellite communication systems and UAV technology.
