About the position

Oracle's Application Development Platform team is at the forefront of creating cutting-edge technology that empowers both Oracle's applications and customers to build next-generation, intelligent, and feature-rich application extensions. This platform encompasses Visual Builder Studio, Oracle JET, and a suite of services designed for search and business objects. Visual Builder Studio serves as the framework for applications on both web and mobile platforms, while Oracle JET comprises a collection of open-source JavaScript libraries, complemented by Oracle-contributed libraries, aimed at simplifying and enhancing the development of applications that interact with Oracle products and services, particularly Oracle Cloud services. We are seeking a Principal Software Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing new features that will enhance our platform. You will also assist other technical employees, including those in QA, Documentation, and Marketing, and provide technical assistance to our customers. As a member of the software engineering division, you will play an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures. Your responsibilities will include defining and developing software for tasks associated with the development, design, and debugging of software applications or operating systems. This position requires a strong background in software development, with a preference for candidates who have more than seven years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design and implement new features for the application development platform.
  • Assist other technical employees including QA, Documentation, and Marketing teams.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers regarding the application development platform.
  • Define and develop software for tasks associated with developing, designing, and debugging software applications or operating systems.
  • Take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures within the software engineering division.

Requirements

  • More than seven years of software development experience is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in framework design and development.
  • Expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Bootstrap, React, or similar products is a bonus.
  • Self-motivated with a strong interest in user interface and user experience work.
  • Ability to adapt well to changing work requirements and be a team player.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
