The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. This may include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and/or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. This role works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems. In this role, you will lead needed technical processes and designs considering reliability, data integrity, maintainability, reuse, extensibility, usability, and scalability. You will collaborate with Infrastructure partners to identify and deploy optimal hosting environments, define scalability and performance criteria for assigned applications, and ensure applications meet performance, privacy, and security requirements. You will also tune application performance to eliminate and reduce issues, verify test plans to ensure compliance with performance and security requirements, and support business and technical presentations in relation to technology platforms and business solutions. Additionally, you will help develop solutions that balance cost and delivery while meeting business requirements, implement technology-specific best practices that are consistent with corporate standards, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of product strategy and project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Lead needed technical processes and designs considering reliability, data integrity, maintainability, reuse, extensibility, usability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure partners to identify and deploy optimal hosting environments.
  • Define scalability and performance criteria for assigned applications.
  • Ensure application meets the performance, privacy, and security requirements.
  • Tune application performance to eliminate and reduce issues.
  • Verify test plans to ensure compliance with performance and security requirements.
  • Support business and technical presentations in relation to technology platforms and business solutions.
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls.
  • Help develop solutions that balance cost and delivery while meeting business requirements.
  • Implement technology-specific best practices that are consistent with corporate standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of product strategy and project deliverables.
  • Manage the software development process.
  • Drive new technical and business process improvements.
  • Estimate total costs of modules/projects covering both hours and expense.
  • Research and evaluate specific technologies, and applications, and contribute to the solution design.
  • Construct application Architecture encompassing end-to-end designs.
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in backend application development and system analysis.
  • Strong database background in Oracle and/or Snowflake; any experience in AWS Aurora Postgres is a plus.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of data replication technologies like Oracle Golden Gate.
  • Expertise in writing PL/SQL code.
  • Hands-on experience in tuning database queries using tools like OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating system and shell scripting.
  • Strong working experience with cloud native services like AWS EC2, AWS RDS etc.
  • Expertise in modernizing and migrating build and deployment infrastructure for applications running in public and private cloud.
  • Troubleshooting complex issues in AWS cloud and on-premise environment.
  • Integrating different tool sets for builds, security scans, deployments & reporting using API based web-service calls.
  • Creating and maintaining an elastic CI-CD infrastructure.
  • Ensuring the governance policies and audit compliance requirements are met.
  • Experience in data modeling, performance tuning and database administration.
  • Building automation tools using Jenkins, Maven, Docker, Buildah, Podman.
  • Implementing automation using scripting languages such as Perl, Python or Ruby.
  • Working with IaC tool like ArgoCD, Terraform.
  • Provisioning AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS etc.
