About the position

The Principal Software Engineer for Core Custody - Institutional Digital is responsible for building and maintaining a new API platform for accessing Fidelity Digital Assets Services. This role involves designing, building, and documenting customer-facing RESTful APIs, and requires extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in Java development and large-scale production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a new API platform for accessing Fidelity Digital Assets Services.
• Design, build, and document customer-facing RESTful APIs.
• Develop large-scale production distributed systems to support public-facing websites.
• Implement infrastructure as code, test automation, CI/CD, and containerization.
• Ensure software reliability in unreliable environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expertise in designing, building, and documenting customer-facing RESTful APIs.
• Experience in Java development.
• Prior experience designing and building large-scale production distributed systems.
• Proficiency in databases and SQL.
