The Principal Software Engineer - Front End and Design System role at Procore involves leading the development of innovative software solutions for the construction industry. Responsibilities

• Contribute to core initiatives and independent technical projects at Procore.
• Drive strategic direction for major parts of the technology stack and collaborate with internal groups to develop roadmaps.
• Lead architectural design decisions to improve scalability and performance using a customer-centric approach.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, and training opportunities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for coding tools, processes, and procedures.
• Facilitate decision-making among diverse groups and ensure clear communication of those decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Object Oriented Programming and/or Functional Programming fundamentals, Test Driven Development, and Design principles.
• 10+ years of experience with JavaScript, with a preference for modern libraries and frameworks (React preferred).
• Proven track record of anticipating technical problems and designing solutions for major projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and improving large, business-critical systems focusing on stability, performance, and scalability.
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern web development processes including development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring.
• Leadership in evaluating industry best practices for technical approaches.
