The Principal Software Engineer - Network Engineering at Mastercard is a pivotal role that focuses on driving customer experience strategies through innovation and problem-solving. The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for creating solution definitions and architectures, conducting research on emerging technologies, and providing recommendations to management based on findings. Additionally, the role requires the execution of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to assist the Global Open Banking team in selecting appropriate technologies. The successful candidate will proactively maintain solution and technology roadmaps, create detailed cost and time estimates for business solutions, and assist project managers in managing project scopes throughout their lifecycle. This position also involves vendor selection and participation in the RFI/RFP process, as well as the development of documentation templates to ensure thorough documentation throughout the development lifecycle. The Principal Software Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing standards and practices within the department, ensuring that the team meets service level agreements (SLAs) while driving innovation and efficiency.
