About the position

The Principal Software Engineering Manager will lead a team responsible for developing and delivering innovative security solutions for Azure Edge + Platform. This role focuses on creating a secure platform foundation for consistent Cloud/Edge experiences, ensuring the security of services and customer workloads running on Kubernetes clusters. The manager will drive security strategies in collaboration with partner teams and oversee the release of critical security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and performant solutions while championing a growth mindset, diversity, and inclusion.
• Manage delivery success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders to create a platform technical strategy regarding security architecture and API experience for the managed/supported Kubernetes cluster.
• Support the creation of product roadmap for timely release and easy adoption utilizing customer data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• 6+ years of industry experience successfully shipping services.
• 3+ years of experience working with Kubernetes platform including Kubernetes security fundamentals.
• 3+ years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Azure services, including container (AKS) and AKV, and familiarity with Entra ID, ARM: Azure Resource Manager, and other Azure RBAC.
• Experience in designing and building system features.
