About the position

The Principal Software Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining technology solutions that are critical to the organization's success. This role requires a deep understanding of software architecture, system integration, and business processes to ensure efficient technology delivery. The position combines technical leadership with business judgment to make informed technology choices and drive the development of high-scale systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical leader on cross-functional projects.
  • Balance technical leadership with business judgment for technology decisions.
  • Decompose complex problems into straightforward solutions while understanding system inter-dependencies.
  • Evaluate system options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impacts on business processes.
  • Identify best sources of data and data integration solutions in collaboration with data architects.
  • Lead technical evaluations of vendor services and manage implemented vendor solutions.
  • Lead application technical component design and development, creating technical specifications and reusable components.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for new code development and reusable components.
  • Define solution quality standards and lead software inspections and quality reviews.
  • Contribute to enterprise application architecture processes and standards definition.
  • Mentor and assist in the career development of team members, providing technical leadership and coaching.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical/business areas and 7-10 years of systems analysis and programming experience in software architecture and/or application development.
  • Advanced programming techniques and knowledge of distributed system architectures and object-oriented design.

Nice-to-haves

  • More than 10 years of systems analysis and programming experience in software architecture and/or application development.
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise in full stack development, cloud-native microservices, and seamless integration of application systems.
  • Healthcare business domain knowledge in health plan management, healthcare services, clinical integration, or healthcare interoperability.
