About the position

As a Principal Software Scrum Master at Raytheon, you will play a crucial role in leading agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions for classified programs. This position involves close collaboration with leadership and product owners to prioritize development tasks, facilitate sprint planning, and ensure effective communication across teams. You will also engage in hands-on software development, contributing to the design and implementation of advanced software technologies in a flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with IPT Leadership and Product Owner to prioritize development tasks and resolve cross-IPT issues.
• Lead sprint and increment planning sessions, facilitating coordination and communication across teams.
• Act on behalf of IPT Leadership in planning development increments and software builds.
• Design and develop software at least 50% of the time when not performing Scrum Master duties.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 8 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience with Agile metrics such as backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.
• Strong coding ability using Java, C/C++, or similar programming languages.
• Understanding of software engineering processes and best practices.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice-to-haves

• CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner).
• Proficiency in object-oriented design.
• Experience guiding agile teams on Agile/Scrum practices and values.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, and automated testing.
• Experience with satellite ground system software.
