About the position

The Principal Software Test Architect at BAE Systems is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products developed by the Digital Architecture Team. This role involves designing and implementing comprehensive test plans, performing various types of testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing methodologies and a passion for delivering exceptional products to end-users.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Jest, Jasmine, or Mocha.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools like JIRA.
• Participate in requirement reviews to provide input on testability and quality risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers and product managers.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software testing.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with both manual and automated testing.
• Proficient with test automation tools such as Selenium, WebDriver, Jest, Jasmine, or Mocha.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python and JavaScript.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly GitLab.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in testing microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or Roadrunner.
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies.
• Certification in software testing.
