About the position

The Principal Solutions Analyst and Solutions Enterprise Architect positions are critical roles within the County's IT department, focusing on the most complex technical analysis, support, and integrations for the County's interconnected applications and platforms. The Principal Solutions Analyst is responsible for providing subject matter expertise on technologies that are either purchased as a service or deployed on-premise, ensuring that these technologies effectively support the County's business operations. This role is key in managing service interruptions and addressing persistent problems, coordinating work done by service providers on behalf of the County. On the other hand, the Solutions Enterprise Architect operates under general guidance to design and develop the enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms necessary to meet business outcomes. This includes addressing challenges related to system integration, compatibility, and the management of multiple platforms. The Architect evaluates existing systems and contributes to the knowledge bases that support daily operations. Collaboration with division managers and project teams is essential to develop and maintain technical and security standards, as well as policies and procedures that ensure data security and integrity across the enterprise. Additionally, the Architect serves as a lead, providing direction and training to other IT professionals. Depending on the qualifications of the candidates, they may be hired into either the Principal Solutions Analyst or Architect position. The hiring range for the Principal Solutions Analyst is between $92,457 and $130,527, while the Solutions Enterprise Architect position ranges from $99,856 to $140,973. The incumbent will initially be on-site during the onboarding and training process before transitioning into a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and make recommendations for systems and system security.
  • Identify opportunities for automation across systems.
  • Implement technology solutions for system architectures, new initiatives, and business process improvements.
  • Participate in testing and trial runs of new and revised systems; identify and use appropriate debugging techniques.
  • Contribute to the planning of the overall County IT strategy, providing advice and guidance towards desirable outcomes.
  • Create business architecture models to reflect the County's strategies and goals; create and implement the County's strategies and goals.
  • Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to the IT Department, county administrators, and leaders.

Requirements

  • Equivalency of a bachelor's degree in computer sciences or a related field and five years advanced level IT experience for Principal Solutions Analyst.
  • Experience in a medium to large service industry organization is essential for Principal Solutions Analyst.
  • Reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS) or related field, and seven years of progressively responsible IT experience for Solutions Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with methods, systems, and analysis in application development, data management, infrastructure, or security in a complex, medium to large-scale network environment, including two years of experience in architecture design for Solutions Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with third party vendor management to support critical systems for Solutions Enterprise Architect.

Nice-to-haves

  • Systems and database design experience in a client/server and/or web-based environment for Principal Solutions Analyst.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS) or related field, and ten years of progressively responsible IT experience for Solutions Enterprise Architect.
