About the position

As a Principal Solutions Architect specializing in Applications Modernization on AWS, you will play a pivotal role in leading presales discovery, analysis, architecture, design, and proposal development for solutions that align with customer outcomes and requirements. This position requires direct engagement with clients, leveraging presales methodologies, technical expertise, and key relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and vendor partners to recommend solutions that deliver long-term value. In this role, you will work closely with enterprise account teams and customers to accelerate their cloud adoption journey. You will drive customer engagements to help them maximize the benefits of cloud technology through application modernization. Your responsibilities will include qualifying, developing, and closing deals related to migrating and modernizing applications, including large-scale data center migrations and custom application refactoring. You will also design modern target architectures optimized for business agility, innovation, performance, resiliency, and cost-effectiveness. Your focus will be on understanding the key business drivers of our customers and their existing application architectures to deliver technical assessments and create reliable, scalable cloud architectures. You will collaborate with various teams, including Business Development and Professional Services, to ensure successful management of customer progression through programs like the AWS Migration Acceleration Program. This role requires a passion for creating and articulating innovative value propositions, defining technical migration strategies, and engaging with C-level executives to inspire and execute enterprise cloud migration strategies.
Responsibilities
- Work with and enable enterprise account teams and customers to accelerate their cloud adoption journey.
- Drive customer engagements to help customers maximize the benefits of the cloud through application modernization.
- Qualify, develop, and close deals around migrating and modernizing applications, including large-scale data center migrations, SAP, Oracle, Mainframe, and custom application refactoring.
- Design modern target architectures optimized for business agility, innovation, performance, resiliency, and cost.
- Deliver technical assessments to customers based on their key business drivers and existing application architectures.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Professional Services, and Partner teams to manage customer progression through programs like the AWS Migration Acceleration Program.
- Create and articulate innovative value propositions for customer executives regarding the benefits of migrating to AWS.
- Define and execute technical migration strategies with technical teams within Presidio.
- Deliver modern architectures such as microservices and event-driven architectures using managed services and cloud-native capabilities.
- Engage with development, infrastructure, security, and IT operations teams at the customer to identify repeatable patterns and architectures for cloud migration.
Requirements
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 7+ years of IT development or implementation consulting experience and 3+ years of presales experience.
- 5+ years of professional work experience with AWS solutions.
