About the position

As an AWS Principal Solutions Architect specializing in Financial Services, you will leverage your industry knowledge and technical expertise to collaborate with major financial institutions. Your role will involve crafting scalable cloud architectures, influencing technical strategies, and establishing credibility in sales cycles to drive the adoption of AWS services. You will work closely with AWS Sales and other teams to address complex business challenges and promote the benefits of cloud solutions in the financial sector.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical elements of the strategic plan for accelerating AWS adoption in the Financial Services industry.
• Establish technical credibility in the sales cycle by supporting discussions with Financial Services customers and partners.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS within Financial Services and participate in architectural discussions for successful cloud deployment.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community.
• Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers.
• Build relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.
• Serve as a technical domain expert on deploying Financial Services workloads on AWS.
• Architect solutions leveraging AWS technology and demonstrate technical feasibility through proof-of-concepts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives.
• Experience working in Financial Services organizations and implementing solutions in a regulated environment.
• Experience as an architect, designing and implementing large-scale solutions in the Financial Services industry.
• Solid understanding of virtualization and/or cloud computing technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation.
• Strong presentation and whiteboarding skills with comfort speaking to executives and IT management.
• Experience architecting, migrating, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.
• Understanding of AWS or other large-scale cloud service providers and delivery modes (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Deep experience with FSI-related applications, such as core insurance or banking systems.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in a virtual team environment.
• AWS certifications.
