About the position

The Principal Solutions Architect for the National Security Solutions Architecture Team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will support U.S. Government customers, particularly within the Intelligence Community, by implementing innovative cloud computing solutions. This role involves collaborating with sales teams to drive revenue growth, educating customers on AWS services, and ensuring successful deployment of cloud architectures. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, enabling them to connect technology with business value and advocate for cloud adoption.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS.
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in architectural discussions for successful cloud deployment.
• Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solutions architect community.
• Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and reusable content.
• Build relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, and data & analytics.
• Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives, through training, workshops, and publications.
• Experience developing technology solutions and end-to-end technology roadmaps for IT transformations to cloud computing.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP.
• 5+ years in a technical leadership role such as CTO, Head of Technology, or Principal Solutions Architect.
• Experience in architecting, migrating, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.
• Experience with infrastructure solutions using Linux/Unix and Windows, including server, load balancing, HA/DR, and storage architectures.
• Understanding of Federal Government security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
