About the position

The Principal Solutions Architect at Emory Healthcare is responsible for designing comprehensive healthcare technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and patient care. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to define strategic visions, leading architectural design processes, mentoring a team of architects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The position requires a strong background in cloud computing and healthcare interoperability standards, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end solutions that integrate various healthcare systems, applications, and data sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the strategic vision and roadmap for healthcare technology initiatives.
  • Lead the architectural design process, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and guide a team of healthcare solutions architects, providing coaching and support.
  • Define and document enterprise solution architecture principles, standards, and guidelines.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in healthcare technology by evaluating emerging trends and methodologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on healthcare industry standards and regulations, ensuring compliance in all solutions.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide strategic guidance on technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years in a related IT or Engineering discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience architecting solutions using cloud-native services.
  • Strong understanding of HL7 and FHIR interoperability standards and protocols.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, HL7 FHIR Proficiency) preferred.
