About the position

The Cross Domain Solutions Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman will be responsible for technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and analyses for total systems. This role involves ensuring the conversion of customer requirements into comprehensive systems solutions while considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The position is open for both Level 3 and Level 4 candidates, allowing for a range of experience and educational backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation for total systems.
  • Conduct analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience (Level 3) or 9 years of experience (Level 4).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience developing/testing requirements for Multi-Level Security (MLS) Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) applications.
  • Experience with implementing NSA Raise the Bar (RTB) standards and requirements.
  • Experience with DOORS and Interface Control Document development.
  • Experience developing and maintaining comprehensive test plans.
  • Experience with system functional and non-functional testing.
  • Experience translating both business and technical requirements into testable scenarios.
  • Experience documenting processes and procedures.
  • Hands-on experience developing and performing real-time executable mission plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Secret DoD security clearance.
  • Experience working on Agile programs and methodology.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, network security, application security, security assessments/testing, industry, and DoD security best practices.
  • Experience providing development and enhancement of security engineering inputs to systems engineering documentation, security authorization packages, and research & development reports.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-53).
  • Experience supporting cyber vulnerability assessments.
  • Experience configuring and using ACAS vulnerability scanner.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Eggplant and Microsoft Testing Framework.
  • Current DoD 8570 Certification IAT Level II or higher (Security+, CISSP, etc.) or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated experience using Bash or similar scripting languages to automate tasks.
  • Experience with Software Configuration Management tools such as Git, Stash.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration Technologies such as Jenkins, Bamboo.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
