About the position
The Principal/Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer - General Specialist at Northrop Grumman will play a crucial role in the Test and Evaluation organization, serving as a subject matter expert and focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and test site teams. This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively to develop solutions and support the execution of test plans and procedures. The role demands strong communication skills and a commitment to meeting program schedules, including the possibility of extended shifts and weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of acceptance test plans, test schedules, and test procedures.
- Support and host test planning working groups.
- Interface with design and analysis functions to develop test and test data requirements.
- Coordinate test equipment and personnel requirements for safe and efficient execution of tests.
- Provide test execution support and make real-time decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Participate in post-test data evaluation and discrepancy resolution.
- Serve as the subject matter focal point to interface with internal and external organizations to develop test and test data requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM).
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience with a BS Degree, 3 years with a MS degree, or 0 years with a PhD in STEM Field for Principal level.
- Minimum of 9 years of engineering experience with a BS Degree, 7 years with a MS degree, or 4 years with a PhD in STEM Field for Senior Principal level.
- Experience in a system test environment.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience that includes test planning, execution, and operations.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Active Special Program Access (SAP).
