About the position

The Principal Subcontract Administrator for the Advanced Compact EW Solutions (ACES) product line at BAE Systems is responsible for managing all phases of subcontract execution and supplier performance. This role involves coordinating, negotiating, and managing complex proposals and subcontracts with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business agreements, government contracting methods, and federal DOD regulations, and will work independently while managing cross-functional teams on subcontract-related issues. The position requires excellent multi-tasking abilities and the capacity to drive issues to closure while exercising discretion and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review proposals for subcontracts.
  • Develop evaluation criteria for subcontractor selection.
  • Negotiate subcontract provisions and terms.
  • Select and recommend subcontractors for projects.
  • Write subcontract packages for review and award.
  • Negotiate additions, deletions, or modifications to existing subcontracts.
  • Manage all facets of end-to-end sourcing for critical materials and services.
  • Drive supplier excellence through effective procurement strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
  • 6 or more years of directly related work experience, preferably in a government contracting environment.
  • Experience executing and managing major, complex, and critical subcontracts or procurements.
  • Ability to conduct effective meetings and facilitate discussions with suppliers.
  • Experience developing strategies to support affordability initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the FAR and DFARS regulations.
  • Knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
  • Experience with AS9145 and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, C.P.M., or C.P.S.M.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management and Cost Analysis.
  • Understanding of CPSR audits and requirements.
  • Track record of developing relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor solicitations and bid analysis processes.
  • Master's degree in engineering, science, or business.
