About the position

The Sr Principal Engineer Systems Architect - Global Algorithm Architect at Northrop Grumman is responsible for providing technical expertise in developing and analyzing complex algorithms to support new Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) capabilities. This role involves working within the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which is crucial for enabling strategic defense operations. The position requires collaboration with an integrated team of engineers to develop solutions and ensure adherence to architectural guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in developing and analyzing complex algorithms for BMDS capabilities.
  • Assist in the execution, analysis, and trades of Track Server algorithms over large data sets.
  • Develop and document complex algorithms and their applications in software.
  • Create and validate test sets to ensure proper algorithm implementations.
  • Report to the Global ART EPM and adhere to architectural guidance as part of implementation.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, or Engineering focusing on Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Experience with Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Optimal control, State Estimation, Statistical Analysis, Stochastic processes, Target Tracking/Correlation, and Orbital Mechanics.
  • Proven track record of applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
  • Well-versed in utilizing Data Analytics to analyze system performance on large data sets and visualize complex data sets.
  • Experience in developing Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs) is required.
  • Working knowledge of software development processes and transitioning algorithms into production software is strongly desired.
