About the position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is at the forefront of developing proprietary radar solutions and avionics systems for the defense industry. We are seeking System Integration & Test Engineers with DoD Cyber experience to enhance our capabilities in the U.S. This role is pivotal as you will take ownership of the Cyber hardening process, which encompasses updating product baselines, verifying functionality on test assets, preparing procedures and reports for customer use, releasing updates, and training end-users for field application. Your responsibilities will also include leading the integration and testing of radar systems, both locally and at government test ranges. In this collaborative environment, characterized by respect for individuals and team problem-solving, you will participate in complex integration programs. You will establish methods and techniques, write integration procedures and reports, and conduct integration utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of complex subsystems. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our radar systems, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements of our DoD customers. As a System Integration & Test Engineer, you will be expected to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers. Your role will also involve mentoring and coaching other engineers, providing technical expertise, and ensuring that all integration and testing activities align with program cost, schedule, and technical performance targets.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of product Cyber Security to deliver regular updates and improvements to DoD customers.
  • Provide training on the Cyber Hardening process to Field Service Representatives and DoD customers.
  • Establish and maintain a technical project plan to design, develop, document, test, and deliver radar performance analysis tools in accordance with overall program cost, schedule, and technical performance targets.
  • Perform operational test performance against requirements, identify deficiencies, maintain test discrepancy database, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with engineers/developers to correct deficiencies.
  • Lead or support integration of subsystems, or the radar systems into high level platforms.
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers and provide technical expertise and assistance to support personnel.
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and the customer as required.

Requirements

  • DOD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 5 years of integration, test, or network engineering experience on a development contract including systems/hardware integration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in working with vulnerability tools (e.g. Nessus, OpenVAS, SCAP Compliance Checker).
  • Experience in applying Security Technical Implementation Guide controls on Windows, Linux, network devices.
  • Experience with remediating security issues on Windows, Linux, or network devices.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10 and Linux security practices and implementation.
  • Prior experience leading technical teams or projects.
  • Ability to analyze system problems and communicate issues to the engineering team.
  • Interpersonal skills with a history of customer interaction experience.
  • Experience preparing and executing Integration procedures.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or familiarity with designing and implementing a network architecture.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Windows Shell.
  • Prior experience developing TEMP and other test plans supporting US DOD customers.
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Suite Tools (JIRA).
  • Prior experience integrating or troubleshooting complex hardware/software systems.
  • Prior experience operating radar systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps environments as a test engineer.
