About the position

The Principal System Test Engineer role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is designed for an experienced professional to join the Slingshot Quality Assurance Team. This position focuses on integrating and testing solutions for the HPE High-Performance Ethernet Fabric, working with complex, large-scale systems. The role involves writing and executing comprehensive testing plans, debugging issues, and collaborating with development teams to ensure product quality. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work 2-3 days per week, and offers opportunities for professional growth within a diverse and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portions of application/subsystems.
  • Identify, debug, and create solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
  • Conduct system testing including NCCL/RCCL testing, RDMA and TCP/IP performance, and MPI stress load.
  • Review and evaluate designs and project activities with systems design and development guidelines and standards.
  • Provide domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership to cross-organization projects.
  • Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into software systems design projects.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure product quality and seamless integration with Linux OS and management subsystems.
  • Mentor less-experienced team members and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Participate in quality initiatives and assist in developing customer documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically 8-14 years of experience in software systems design and testing.
  • Extensive experience with NCCL/RCCL, MPI, RDMA, TCP/IP, SHMEM, Libfabric, InfiniBand, and Ethernet Drivers.
  • Strong C programming experience in a Linux environment.
  • Experience in designing and integrating software systems across multiple platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and local language.
