About the position

The Principal Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to provide innovative technical solutions. This role involves managing the technical baseline in support of review milestones and executing tasks in system engineering functions. The position requires a strong understanding of the full development life-cycle processes, along with leadership skills to manage multiple teams and tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and collaborate with engineering design teams to provide technical solutions.
• Establish and manage the technical baseline in support of review milestones.
• Execute tasks in system engineering functions.
• Demonstrate systems thinking and manage technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Exhibit strong leadership characteristics in coordinating with multiple teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering experience; OR Master of Science degree with 3 years of experience; OR PhD in a STEM discipline.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working on military aircraft/spacecraft systems.
• Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements.
• Experience in system architecture, CONOPs, or model-based system engineering.
• Experience in ICD development and integration.
• MBSE and Agile Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience with DOORS, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Scripting experience.
