About the position

The Principal Systems Engineer at KBR will provide comprehensive engineering support to the Advanced Sensors Technologies Program Office, focusing on the Advanced Airborne Sensor. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including system architecture design, failure analysis, systems integration, and technical assessments, ensuring the effective implementation and operation of advanced sensor technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting system activities and development of system architectures including requirements definition.
  • Investigating emerging technologies and concepts.
  • Providing technical support for contractual documentation and performing engineering studies to support program requirements.
  • Analyzing current capabilities, identifying shortfalls, and proposing improvements.
  • Evaluating contract proposals for technical feasibility and conducting risk analysis and mitigation.
  • Supporting integration into system architecture and systems of systems.
  • Providing technical support to specification verification activities and conducting root cause investigations.
  • Assisting in the development of sensor calibration and production manufacturing processes.
  • Providing support for interface management and compliance.
  • Monitoring and assessing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of AST efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with integrated teams of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Experience working in a DoD security environment.
  • Top Secret/SSBI security clearance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience operating aircraft, airborne systems, or weapon systems.
  • Operational experience with DoD active-duty customers.
  • Experience with Advanced Sensor Technologies Program Office.
  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering.
