About the position

SAIC is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer with expertise in space systems, particularly in satellite design and acquisition cycles, to join the PNT Systems Engineering & Integration Team. This role involves providing engineering, integration, and technical analysis support to the US Space Force, focusing on the Global Positioning System (GPS) and its integration within the larger PNT enterprise. The position requires collaboration with government personnel and systems engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide satellite/space vehicle technical expertise and systems integration support to ensure an optimal integrated space system.
• Facilitate requirements development across the GPS Enterprise and stakeholders.
• Develop and review technical requirements pertaining to GPS Space Segment, including contractor documentation and interface control.
• Provide technical support for the GPS III and GPS IIIF programs, including interfacing with the SSC and prime contractors.
• Support space vehicle manufacturing activities and Space Segment Risk & Opportunities management.
• Provide subject matter expertise for anomaly resolutions during Launch & Early Orbit (L&EO) and other design reviews.
• Assist in evaluating requirement verification and validation processes.
• Coordinate activities in a multi-team environment, taking on additional technical and administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, or Science.
• Minimum of 9 years of related experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and delivering government Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs).
• Proficiency using DOORS.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with government personnel.
• Proven ability to brief in a DoD acquisition customer environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Experience with space vehicles and GPS-related systems.
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition organizations.
