The System Engineering Directorate plays a crucial role in Mission Systems Integration activities, focusing on defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team, specifically for the SPY-6 Family of Radars and the GhostEye family of radars. This position will involve executing integration and analysis activities, identifying issues, generating solutions, and verifying that these solutions are implemented as designed. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying solutions and results to both teammates and leadership. This role is based in Tewksbury, MA, or Marlborough, MA, and may require occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Development of concepts of operations for radar systems
  • Radar processing algorithm development
  • Radar software requirements development
  • Statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data
  • Analysis tool development in support of problem identification and resolution
  • Collaboration with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions
  • Present findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers
  • Focus on signal processing and waveform design, electronic protection methods, phased array and digital beamforming technology, radar search, track and discrimination design, target and threat modeling, integration and test of large radar systems, MBSE.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures
  • Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments
  • Design experience in radar system areas such as antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, sensor resource management and mission planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS
  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C+
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations
  • Masters/PhD in a STEM field
  • Systems Engineering experience on DoD systems
