Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineering Agile Product Owner for the Mission Simpossible 2 team. This role is pivotal in providing subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, and requirements generation for the AN/TPY-2 Programs, specifically in the areas of CX-EDT simulation and the THAAD weapon system. The Principal Systems Engineering Agile Product Owner is responsible for the execution of a subset of Systems Engineering and Software scope for the AN/TPY-2 Programs. This includes managing, coordinating, and executing the technical, cost, and schedule aspects of their team. The Product Owner will engage in task planning to create milestones and schedules, track earned value, and manage competing priorities. Typical activities executed by the Sim2 team include system performance gap analyses and trade studies, architecture definition, design, prototyping, software development, and analysis for new or enhanced system capabilities. The successful candidate will be expected to build the team's abilities and work closely with both internal and external customers, supporting proposal efforts for new business and maintaining knowledge of the financial status and planning for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the execution of technical, cost, and schedule for the AN/TPY-2 Programs.
  • Plan tasks to create milestones and schedules for the team.
  • Track earned value and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Conduct system performance gap analyses and trade studies.
  • Define architecture and design for new or enhanced system capabilities.
  • Oversee prototyping and software development activities.
  • Support proposal efforts for new business opportunities.
  • Build team capabilities and foster collaboration with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience leading a technical effort.
  • Execution of technical, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance (DoD).

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user requirements.
  • Prior experience with the AN/TPY-2 System and/or Missile Defense programs.
  • Ability to understand radar systems technology in the areas of radar design and analysis, and systems engineering development.
  • Experience supporting hiring activities, including interviews and staffing planning.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) and CMMI-compliant Gate Reviews.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work within the Agile Scrum development practice.
  • Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and metrics.
