About the position

The Systems Engineer position at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the Flight Test organization by overseeing the electrical design, integration, and flight testing of systems on flying test beds. The role requires collaboration with a skilled team to ensure the proper operation of systems during ground and flight operations, while also performing various analyses and supporting the effectiveness of the systems under test.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for electrical design and integration of systems under test on flying test beds.
• Define electrical systems interfaces and perform verification & validation test support.
• Conduct cost & risk analyses related to system performance.
• Ensure proper operation of systems during ground and active flight operations.
• Collaborate with military test pilots and flight test professionals to integrate and test advanced sensor systems.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detail trade studies.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a BS Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering or other related STEM; or 0 years relevant experience with a MS degree in STEM Field for Level 2.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a BS Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering or other related STEM; or 3 years relevant experience with a MS degree in STEM Field for Level 3.
• Experience with design, integration and/or troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Experience with avionic systems development and testing.
• Willingness and ability to fly on experimental aircraft.
• A current ACTIVE DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a Special Program Access clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of aircraft systems, primarily avionics, electrical power, and cooling.
• Field Engineering experience including actual Flight Test Experience.
