About the position

The Identification Friend-or-Foe (IFF) Subject Matter Expert (SME) will lead the hands-on test and validation efforts of the IFF Subsystem for the LTAMDS program at Raytheon. This role focuses on integrating IFF capabilities with a network-centric Command and Control (C2) system, developing test scenarios, and ensuring that solutions are implemented as designed. The position requires collaboration with systems and software teams to resolve issues and verify performance requirements, ultimately aiming for AIMS 1203 IFF Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test cases/scenarios to verify performance requirements
  • Lead/support IFF system validation of performance
  • Conduct statistical and numerical analysis of IFF performance data
  • Use computer interface tools (Linux, Ethernet) to intercept and record message data fields for subsequent analysis
  • Develop analysis tools in support of problem identification and resolution
  • Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance
  • Active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of cooperative radar (IFF) systems
  • Knowledge of antenna, digital beamforming, spread-spectrum waveforms, cryptology principles, multi-sensor track management, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, sensor resource management and mission planning
  • Ability to analyze IFF Transponder Truth Data
  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations
  • Systems Engineering experience on DoD systems

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in signal processing and waveform design
  • Knowledge of phased array and digital beamforming technology
  • Understanding of RF communications basics (including link analysis)
  • Familiarity with radar search and track basics
  • Experience in target and threat modeling
  • Integration and test of larger radar systems
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
