About the position

The Principal Tableau Data Engineer at Northrop Grumman will lead the development of data visualization solutions to support innovative superconducting electronics technologies. This role involves utilizing Tableau to create dashboards and visualizations that aid in the analysis of data for a new wafer fabrication line, collaborating with engineering teams, and troubleshooting data-related issues. The position requires a proactive approach to meet the dynamic needs of a fast-paced research and development environment, with a strong emphasis on effective communication across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Tableau to build core capabilities for data visualization supporting a superconducting electronics wafer fabrication line.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand data analysis needs and build custom solutions in Tableau.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to data fidelity, dashboards, or reports.
  • Work under minimal direction to proactively develop data visualization solutions for a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a STEM Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years experience; or a STEM PhD with no experience required.
  • Proficient in Tableau dashboard creation.
  • Experience in modern programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of database concepts and data structure.
  • Experienced in data visualization best practices.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • A bachelor's or master's degree or higher in data science, computer science, software engineering, or a related major.
  • Highly skilled in modern programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Skilled in statistical data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience in high volume automated manufacturing microelectronics or semiconductor fabs.
  • Experience with manufacturing datasets and data structures specifically for semiconductor or microelectronics engineering.
