About the position

The Principal Technical Architect in Cloud Engineering at Baptist Health South Florida is responsible for leading the development and communication of target-state architectures, roadmaps, and solutions across multiple product portfolios. This role requires deep solution architecture experience and a strategic thought process to influence senior leadership while providing guidance to junior architects. The position focuses on building high-quality architecture solutions that align with current and future business needs, driving the adoption of new technologies, and ensuring the architecture meets the demands of a large healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and communication of target-state architectures and roadmaps.
• Build high-quality architecture solutions for multiple product portfolios.
• Provide expertise and guidance on the design and establishment of architecture standards.
• Develop and maintain the architecture for assigned areas.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies across the organization.
• Coach and direct junior level architects on the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in technology disciplines.
• Experience with architecting highly scalable and highly available systems.
• Broad experience across business, application, information, infrastructure, and security architecture domains.
• Technical experience in consumer/employee facing enterprise systems.
• Expertise in technical architecture, application systems design, and integration in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience in MicroServices, Java/J2EE, XML, and various application servers.
• Deep understanding of AWS and Azure cloud computing environments and services.
• Excellent communication and relationship skills.
