About the position

The Principal Technical Product Manager for Oracle University will play a pivotal role in guiding the operations of the complete product management lifecycle for Oracle's new CSS platform. This platform is designed to enhance customer and partner access to critical Oracle services, facilitating cloud-based digital transformation. The successful candidate will oversee the integration of this platform with various Oracle service platforms, including MyLearn, My Oracle Support, and Sales Cloud, ensuring a seamless experience for users. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, infrastructure engineers, quality assurance engineers, product managers, and business collaborators, throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess strong project and program management skills, a well-rounded technical background, and experience in product development, particularly with cloud-based technologies. A focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle applications is essential. The candidate should have a proven track record of leading by influence, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage large-scale projects from inception to completion. Key responsibilities include understanding Oracle's strategic position, leading program success across the product development lifecycle, gathering and reporting on project metrics, managing dependencies, conducting program reviews, fostering collaboration, assessing program success, supporting innovation, executing strategic initiatives, resolving conflicts, and building relationships with stakeholders. The role demands a passion for collaboration and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment, while also demonstrating strong leadership and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Oracle's strategic and competitive position and enable delivery of a product with capabilities that further strategic goals.
  • Lead the charge in delivering program success across the full product development lifecycle and driving projects forward within the program.
  • Regularly gather and report on project/program metrics, seeking feedback to improve progress updates.
  • Coordinate and oversee dependencies, collaborating with teams to ensure project success and accelerate milestones.
  • Conduct regular program/project reviews with leaders, providing status updates and recommending actions for success.
  • Foster collaboration at all levels, organizing interdepartmental activities to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to determine product lifecycle success and planning for changes to product value-chain.
  • Support the cultivation of a culture of innovation and continuous improvement; identify and initiate opportunities for new projects.
  • Focus on executing strategy, delivering benefits, and realizing strategic goals through the design, planning, and delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Drive change by promoting business agility and institutionalizing a culture of adaptability.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts within the program, ensuring smooth collaboration.
  • Partner closely with colleagues and stakeholders to lead, assist, or stay informed about product-related initiatives.

Requirements

  • 4 years of related experience with a Master's degree, or equivalent.
  • PMI certification (e.g., PMP, PMI ACP, or PRINCE 2), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification, and/or proficiency with Jira Agile are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Oracle cloud infrastructure, business intelligence, and/or other applications.
  • A robust grasp of the product development life-cycle.
  • Understanding of the SaaS market in relation to product/program management.
  • Inside Customer or Customer-facing experience within a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with moving products, processes, and/or programs to increasing levels of maturity and efficiency.
  • Strong technical background with significant hands-on experience throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in technical concepts and system architecture.
  • Solid project leadership skills, combined with business acumen, excellent communication skills, and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven track record to lead multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strict attention to detail and on-time delivery.
  • Excellent project management and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
