About the position

Amazon has the world's most complex supply chain, fulfilling global demand for hundreds of millions of products at lightning-fast delivery speeds. The SCOT Forecasting team is at the heart of this operation, focusing on forecasting the demand for tens of millions of products up to a year into the future. These forecasts are crucial as they inform automatic inventory orders worth hundreds of millions weekly, dictate inventory placement, and establish labor plans for numerous warehouses. We are seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager who possesses a proven ability to influence across multiple organizations and drive innovation. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and driving the long-term product vision for both established use cases within an evolving demand landscape and supply chain capabilities, as well as for green-field forecasting products that will inform product design, manufacturing, and procurement processes. You will develop strategies to accelerate our ability to experiment and launch products by integrating scientific innovations, including foundational models and large language models (LLMs), with technical projects and process improvements. Collaboration with product leaders, scientists, and software engineers will be essential, as your work will be transformative to Amazon's supply chain, particularly for our newer businesses. The ability to collaborate effectively and earn trust from engineering, science, and business stakeholders is critical. A successful leader in this role will translate complex customer problems into technical solutions in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

  • Working backwards from customers in the supply chain and business units to proactively identify opportunities.
