About the position

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are seeking an experienced Technical Product Marketing Manager who is passionate about understanding customer needs and translating them into compelling product offerings. In this role, you will work closely with customers to gather insights about their cloud requirements and synthesize data from various sources, including industry analysis and feedback from analysts and influencers. Your goal will be to create broad, portfolio-level value propositions that simplify the understanding of how AWS cloud technology can be applied to drive significant business impact. As a Technical Product Marketing Manager, you will leverage your extensive experience in technology and customer engagement to connect the dots between different AWS capabilities and services. You will collaborate with AWS Product Managers to guide feature prioritization and ensure consistency across various services. Your responsibilities will include developing clear and differentiated positioning and messaging for our offerings, ensuring that they resonate with our customers and effectively communicate the value of our cloud solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of AWS services, including Analytics, Developer Tools, Compute, Databases, Generative AI, Observability, and Security. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies and the ability to think both like a technologist and a business leader. You will be involved in creating strategic documents that guide the development of AWS offerings, advocating for customer needs during the product development process, and generating content that educates customers about our services. Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering and product management to develop portfolio-level strategy documents to guide prioritization of AWS offerings and capabilities we build
  • Creation of positioning and messaging artifacts that will represent our offerings at a portfolio level
  • Analysis and synthesis of 1st and 3rd party data (including driving direct data gathering from customers) to define opportunities for our offerings
  • Acting as an advocate for customers within AWS during the product development process
  • Involvement in the generation of content artifacts (presentations, demos, etc.) that can be leveraged broadly to educate customers on our offerings
  • Working closely with other AWS teams to ensure these value propositions are articulated broadly and clearly
  • Open to some travel (up to 15%)

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience working directly with customers on adoption of cloud-based products and services
  • 10+ years working knowledge cloud-based architectures in one or more technical domains (e.g. Analytics, Developer Tools, Compute, Databases, Generative AI, Observability, Security, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with high level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations, and with executives
  • Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Hands-on experience with AWS; AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification
  • Prior Technical Product Marketing experience
  • MBA degree
