About the position

As a Principal Technical Program Manager at Yahoo, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of strategic programs and promoting Agile excellence within the organization. Reporting directly to the Head of PMO, Home Ecosystem, you will be responsible for executing critical programs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and guiding teams on their Agile journey. Your role will involve operational activities, Agile mentorship, and portfolio management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Define, track, and report on critical PMO organizational improvement programs.
• Ensure adoption of program management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
• Manage central PMO activities, including documentation repository and team goals.
• Increase transparency and alignment across the organization through effective communication channels.
• Develop and maintain insightful dashboards and reports to track program progress.
• Support the implementation of effective release and launch management methodologies.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of program management processes and best practices.
• Support the strategy and execution of Scaled Agile approaches across the enterprise.
• Promote the adoption of Agile principles and best practices through training programs.
• Assist in coaching and mentoring teams and leaders on Agile methodologies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Agile Squad metrics and reporting.
• Monitor the progress of critical strategic programs through the development of the program portfolio via Atlassian Jira.
• Assist in the prioritization of initiatives and allocation of resources.
• Track and report on portfolio performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present regular reports on program status and Agile transformation progress.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience as a technical program manager or project manager.
• Deep knowledge of Agile/SCRUM and/or Scaled Agile methodologies with relevant certifications.
• Masterful proficiency with Atlassian tools, particularly Jira, Jira Portfolio, and Confluence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) in an Agile environment.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships and drive collaboration across teams.
• Proactive and resourceful approach in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative problem-solving skills and willingness to explore innovative solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in consumer technology is a plus.
• Experience with Direct-to-Consumer product launches and release management is a plus.
