About the position

The Principal Technical Program Manager for Prime Video will lead the development and implementation of innovative digital video experiences. This role involves end-to-end ownership of product design, user experience, and technology, focusing on applying advanced natural language processing and computer vision research to enhance video-centric digital media. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a team of applied scientists, creating research roadmaps, and communicating strategic directions to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of applied scientists and manage the research direction for video-centric digital media.
• Create roadmaps for forward-looking research and communicate them to senior leadership.
• Recruit, retain, and develop top talent within the applied science team.
• Apply state-of-the-art natural language processing and computer vision research to enhance Prime Video's offerings.
• Manage programs across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
• Drive roadmap strategy and definition for product development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
• 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams and coordinating release schedules.
