About the position

The Principal Technical Program Manager will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between high-level product vision and technical execution within Qlik's Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams. This position involves collaborating with SRE Director-level leaders across various regions to transform strategic objectives into actionable technical programs, managing the intake of technical requirements, overseeing project execution, and optimizing resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers to translate product visions into actionable technical features and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and architects to manage technical execution, ensuring alignment with program timelines, budgets, and cross-group dependencies.
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of technical programs across SRE and SaaS Operations groups, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring that deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate efforts across North America, EMEA, and APAC SRE groups, ensuring alignment with global objectives and efficient resource utilization.
  • Promote collaboration and best practices across regional SRE groups, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with the Operational Excellence, Performance & Stability, and Developer Experience groups to align with broader product and performance goals.
  • Optimize resource allocation, balancing the needs of local teams with global priorities across SRE while maintaining the roadmaps.
  • Build trackers for program progress across multiple groups, identifying risks, and distilling regular updates to leadership.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams, product managers, and senior leadership, bridging the gap between technical execution and business needs.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation structures for the teams to use, including technical requirements, risk assessments, project updates, and retrospectives for programs spanning SRE and other technical groups.
  • Apply analytical thinking to program goals, prioritization, and execution; build paths to drive programs across multiple technical domains.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts, ensuring outcomes align with business objectives while addressing the needs of SRE and other SaaS Operations groups.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders at various levels across SRE and the SaaS Operations groups.
  • Influence outcomes by driving collaboration and alignment across groups, while balancing regional needs with global objectives.
  • Identify process gaps and lead the development of scalable, efficient processes that span across SRE and SaaS Operations groups.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in technical program management with a focus on infrastructure, SRE, or software engineering.
  • Proven experience working with Director-level leadership and managing complex, cross-functional programs across multiple groups.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into executable plans.
  • Excellent program management skills, including resource optimization, risk management, and building progress tracking capabilities across global groups.
  • Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with experience working across multiple technical areas.
  • Deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, cloud infrastructure, and automation, as well as operational challenges in other groups supporting SaaS platforms.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Principal or Senior Technical Program Management role within a global organization.
  • Knowledge of SRE frameworks, incident management, operational tooling, and performance optimization.
